Optimization of Warehouse Processes with Digital Twin Technology
The Solution: Digital Twin and RTLS Technology
GOBO partnered with BlooLoc, a specialist in Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS), to implement a digital twin model of their warehouse. The goal was to automate location tracking, enhance pallet tracking, and improve safety through fully automated monitoring.
With the introduction of the yooBeeEYE RTLS system, accurate real-time location tracking became possible. This system leverages AI and sensor technology to track forklifts, goods, and personnel, providing full visibility into the logistics operation. Key features of the system include:
- Pallet tracking without manual scans, resulting in more accurate and efficient inventory management.
- Real-time safety alerts for forklift drivers in hazardous situations.
- Insights for process optimization through data analysis and tracking movements within the warehouse.
Results
The system implementation led to significant improvements in daily operations:
- 35.6% reduction in location errors.
- 43.9% decrease in damage incidents, thanks to real-time alerts.
- Enhanced efficiency, as forklift operators no longer need to perform scans or exit vehicles.
- Lower operational costs due to fewer empty runs and optimized resource utilization.
Future Improvements
While the project has already delivered impressive results, further optimizations are possible. GOBO is currently exploring the integration of fully automated warehouse management to reduce manual processes even further. This project represents a significant step toward a safer, more efficient logistics operation, ready for continued growth and innovation.
This case study highlights the successful collaboration between GOBO International NV and BlooLoc, demonstrating how innovative technologies play a crucial role in modernizing the logistics sector. Here you can find a video explaining the system in more detail.
