GOBO once again organizes blind spot training sessions for schools in Lanaken
On 11/09 and 12/09 GOBO has been organizing its annual blind spot awareness sessions for the 22nd consecutive year, targeting all 3rd and 5th grade students in Greater Lanaken. This safety initiative is carried out in close collaboration with the Red Cross Lanaken.
The program begins with an educational video introducing the four golden rules to help children make themselves visible to truck drivers and move safely in traffic. Afterwards, the students take part in a practical session in and around a truck. Each child is given the opportunity to sit behind the wheel and experience first-hand what a driver can and cannot see.
With this initiative, we aim to raise children’s awareness of blind spot dangers in an interactive and lasting way. If it helps us save even a single life, our mission is accomplished.
A special word of thanks goes to our dedicated instructors, Jean and Lucien, as well as the entire team of the Red Cross Lanaken, for their continued commitment and enthusiasm in supporting this initiative year after year.
